How to set Innodb Buffer Pool Size (MySQL)

If you need to increase the buffer pool size from the default 8MB, please add the following text to /etc/my.cnf

innodb_buffer_pool_size=256M

this will set it to 256MB, you may need a higher value depending on what is being used on the server.

once you have applied this setting, you will need to restart mysql services.
